Thelma R. Hernandez, 82 of Jefferson, passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at St. Mary’s Hospital of Madison.

She was born on March 23, 1935 in Firebrick, KY, the daughter of Lawrence and Ruth (Gulliam) Blankenbeckley.  In April of 1977, she married Ysidro Hernandez in Woodstock, IL.  She had 6 children and was devoted to her 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.  Her interests included gardening, spending time with family at their property in Lake Mason.  Thelma was a talented candy maker and her family and friends especially enjoyed that talent.  She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by: her husband of 40 years; 6 children; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother.

A family memorial service will be held at a later date.
