Shirley M. Kottwitz, 92 of Jefferson, passed away on Friday, June 16, 2017 at Marquardt Health Center of Watertown.

Shirley was born on November 26, 1924 in Aztalan Township, WI, the daughter of Ewald & Mabel (Henrich) Kraehnke.  On June 10, 1944, she married Harvey Kottwitz at the Lake Mills Moravian Church.  She was a member of the Lake Mills Moose Lodge, and later the Watertown Moose Lodge, the Jefferson AARP and Over 50 Club – service as president and vice-president.  She was a long-time and active member of Immanuel United Methodist Church of Jefferson.

She is survived by: her Daughter Denise Dorn of Jefferson and Grandson Brandon Sponem of Jefferson.  Shirley is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 Brothers Harold and Stanley, and a Sister Grace Cooper.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Olsen-Gibson Funeral Home of Jefferson with Rev. Nancy Carmichael  presiding.  Visitation will be on Thursday from 9:00AM until the time of service at the funeral home.  Burial will take place following the service at Union Cemetery.
