Margaret A. Hafemann, 86 of Jefferson, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2017 at Jefferson Memory Care.

Margaret was born on July 10, 1931 in Watertown, WI, the daughter of Henry and Viola (Doogen) Wilde.  On June 13, 1953, she married Wallace J. Hafemann at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Jefferson and the couple had 2 children.  She was employed as a housekeeper at St. Coletta’s for nearly 30 years. Margaret was generous with her time and talents.  She spent many years volunteering at Twice as Nice and with the Ladies Aide at Church.  She is described as a wonderful wife and mother, and was always putting her family before herself.  She was a “people person” and always wore a smile. She loved meeting new people and often shared her faith.  She loved spending time outdoors and was an avid walker.  Margaret spend her last year at Jefferson Memory care and the family is taking comfort in knowing she is now with her Savior.

She is survived by: her Husband of 64 years Wallace; Son James (Linda) of Fort Atkinson; Granddaughters Sara (Tito) Martinez and Mellisa (Julio) Gonzales; 7 great-grandchildren; and a Sister Josephine Metcalf of Greendale.  She is also survived by a number of other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death be her parents, Daughter Judy Cary in 2013, Grandson Jovani in infancy in 2007, and Brother Harold Wilde.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00PM on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Jefferson with Rev. Matthew Krenke presiding.  Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00PM – 6:00PM at the Olsen-Gibson Funeral Home and on Thursday from 12:00PM until the time of service at the church.  Margaret will be laid to rest at Union Cemetery following the service.
