Judith "Judy" A. Carter, 75, of Fort Atkinson, formerly of Rockford, died on Thursday, December 22, 2016, at Alden Estates of Jefferson.

Born on March 22, 1941, in Beloit, Wisconsin, to Robert and Martha (Deschmaker) Moreau, she married Jesse Carter on June 14, 1958, in Rockford, Illinois.

She was of the Catholic faith.

Surviving are her husband, Jesse Carter of Fort Atkinson; four children, Timothy (Karyl) Carter of Beloit, Michael (Theresa) Carter of Rockford, Lori Burkins of Cambridge and Mark (Truda) Carter of South Beloit, Illinois; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three brothers; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.

Funeral services will be private.

The Olsen Funeral Home in Jefferson is assisting the family.
