Janet Arlene Kreklow passed away peacefully on Monday, July 24, 2017 at Alden Estates of Jefferson surrounded by her family.

She was born March 9, 1930 in Summit, WI daughter of the late Fredrick ad Irene (Hemke) Janke.  She graduated as the Salutatorian from Palmyra High School in 1948.  She graduated Whitewater State Teachers College (now UW-Whitewater) with a teaching certificate in 1950.  On August 18, 1950 she was united to marriage to Willard Kreklow.  Will preceded her in death on June 16, 1969.   She taught for a short time in a one room school house.  She enjoyed a variety of occupations, retiring from the Jefferson County Courthouse in 1990.  Janet enjoyed traveling, casino trips, fish fries, playing cards, cheering on the Packers and the Cubs, but most of all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Janet leaves behind her children:  Sharon Endl, Ron (Terry) Kreklow, Tom (Pat) Kreklow, Jim (Vickie) Kreklow all of Jefferson, Larry (special friend Maria) Kreklow of Milwaukee, Linda (Brendan) Fischer of Prescott Valley, Arizona.  Grandchildren:  April (Toby) Tobin, Amanda (Ben) Crabtree, Ryan (Courtney), Corey, Andy, Alyssa, and Justin Kreklow.  Step-grandchildren:  Scott (Julie) Endl, Todd (fiancée Kristi), Shawn and Michael Fischer.  Great-grandchildren:  Gavin and Caden Tobin, Andre and Cora Crabtree, Colten, Madison, and Brantley Kreklow, along with Step-great-grandchildren:  Logan, Morgan, Jillian, Quinnten, and Ronnie Lynn Endl.  Also survived by her brother Fred Jr (Bonnie) Janke, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends.

In addition to her husband, she is proceeded in death by Brothers Francis and Melvin “Butch” Janke, Sisters-n-law Marie Carnes and Bernice Janke, Son-n-Law Jerry Endl, Grandson Tyler Krelow and Step-grandson Daniel Fischer.

For those who prefer, memorials may be directed to:  the Alzheimer’s and Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin, St. John’s Lutheran Church, and Rainbow Hospice. 

Funeral services to be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at St. John’s Lutheran Church with Rev. Matthew Krenke presiding.  Visitation will be from Thursday from 9:00AM until the time of service at the church.  Burial will take place at Cold Spring Cemetery followed by a luncheon at the church.

The family THANKS the many people that helped and cared for Janet over the final years as she navigated through the challenges of Alzheimer’s, especially Country Nurses, her neighbor’s, dedicated friends and extended family.  Also to the staff of Alden Estates for the love and excellent, passionate care that they provided to our Mom.  And many thanks to Rainbow Hospice who helped her complete her journey with peace and compassion.
