Gary R. Junker, 63 of Jefferson, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Fort Memorial Hospital.

Gary was born on June 17, 1953 in Mount Pleasant, IA, the son of Roland and Mary (Thompson) Junker.  He is a 1971 Graduate of Jefferson High school and on April 7, 1973, he married Linda Richards at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Jefferson. Gary and Linda raised 3 children and his 5 grandchildren were his pride and joy!  Gary was a patient man who loved his family and was always putting othesr before himself.  His service to others and generosity were appreciated by many.  He was a guy who knew a little about everything and could contribute to any conversation on any topic.  He is described as a dependable, funny, prankster.  His interests included hunting, outdoors, guns and he was an avid history buff.  Gary loved to learn and was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Jefferson.  Gary was a man loved by many and will be dearly missed.

He is survived by: his Wife Linda; Mother Mary Fuchs of Fort Atkinson; Mother-in-Law Helen Richards-Kish of Crivitz; Children Bill (Kelly) of Germantown, Becky (Jeff) McDermott of Monroe, and Jennifer Junker of Jefferson; Grandchildren Kayla, Taylor, Alyssa, Paeyton, and Ashley; Siblings Mike (Cathy), Tim, Sue (Jay) Winkler, and Linda (Cory) Smith.  Gary is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father and a sister in infancy.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Jefferson with Rev. Joshua Martin presiding.  There will be no visitation before the service, but friends are invited to share memories of Gary at a luncheon following the service at the church.
