Colleen J. Orval, 90 of Jefferson, died on Sunday morning, July 2,2017 at Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center of Johnson Creek.

Colleen was born on May 24, 1927 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Vessie and Irene (Linton) Martin. On her 20th birthday, (May 24, 1947) she married Francis B.E. Orval in Solon Springs, WI and the couple lived in and raised 5 children in Maple, WI.  Colleen taught school in Woodbine, IA and Maple, WI and worked as a Nurse’s Aid at Countryside (now Alden Estates) for 27 years.  She was a past dedicated and active member of Farmington Immanuel Lutheran Church, serving with the Ladies Aid.  Recently, she worshiped at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Jefferson.  She was a long-time member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Johnson Creek.  Colleen and Francis enjoyed traveling to Europe, Hawaii, and throughout the United States.  Colleen was a classy lady, who was self-aware and had a sharp mind - even to the end.  She enjoyed bingo and playing cards with her friends at the Jefferson Senior Center and loved to watch the Brewers and NASCAR.  She would light up when her kids invited her out to dinner, and she always insisted on leaving the tip.  Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy.  She will be dearly missed, but she is now reunited with her Savior and her husband.

She is survived by: her Children Peggy (Patrick) Remfrey of Menomonee Falls, Francis “Buzz” (Kathleen) of Jefferson, Mavis (Douglas) Wait of Janesville, Thomas (Mary) of Johnson Creek, and Robert of Jefferson; 8 Grandchildren Andelee (Brian), Patrick (Lindsay), Carrie (Brandon), Matthew (Jamie), Bret (Stacy), Paul (Jane), Becky (Scott), and Robby (Angie); 14 Great-Grandchildren Ethan, Logan, Leah Colleen, Nicholas, Piper, Bennett, Lilly, Emilie, Cohen, Nixon, Wyatt, Cody, Esdon, and Kendall.

Colleen is preceded in death by her parents, husband in 2006, Great-Granddaughter Alison, and Brothers Jim and John.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Jefferson with Rev. Matt Krenke presiding. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:00AM until the time of service at the Church.  She will be laid to rest in Faith Lutheran Cemetery of Maple, WI.
