Thomas R. Evans

Thomas R. Evans, 65 of Jefferson, passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at his home.

Tom was born on November 28, 1956 in Twin Lakes, WI the son of Donald and Marie (Skinaway) Evans.  He grew up in the Upper Midwest region and attend high school in Marengo, IL.  Tom was a tribal member of the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe of Onamia, MN. On June 16, 1979 he married Brenda Kakuschky at Jefferson County Court House.  The couple had a son and were married for 20 plus years, divorcing in the year 2000.  Although they were no longer married, Tom and Brenda remained not just close, but best friends until her death in 2019.  Tom was employed as a cook in many restaurants throughout his life.  He was talented and enjoyed sharing his gifts in the kitchen with the people he served.  Tom loved cars and spending time outdoors fishing.  He was known to enjoy a malted beverage and he loved his family dearly.  He was close to his nieces and nephews, but especially cherished his granddaughter, Madison.  Tom was a funny, sweet man, and people loved him for it.  He was appreciated by his family and friends and will be dearly missed.

He is survived by: his son Tim Evans of Whitewater; granddaughter Madison Evans of Fort Atkinson; siblings Shirley Garcia Evens of McGregor, MN, Ileen Faraah of McGregor, MN, Donald Evans, Jr. of Fort Atkinson, and Lloyd (Susan) Evans of Beloit.  Tom is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Ernest Evans, David Evans, Ireen Evans and Donna Evans.

An Open House honoring Tom’s life will be held from 2:00PM – 5:00PM on Sunday, December 19, 2021 at the Olsen-Gibson Funeral Home of Jefferson.
