Sylvia J. Starke, 83 of Nashotah, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2026, at Heritage Court of Pewaukee.
Sylvia was born on October 14, 1942, in Watertown, WI, the daughter of Ralph and Elaine (Johnson) Hall. She graduated from Lake Mills High School, class of 1960, and married DonAllan Starke on December 28, 1968, in Lake Mills. The couple enjoyed 55 years together, enjoying life on Okauchee Lake, until his death in 2024. Days were spent on the water – boating on their pontoon, swimming and fishing, and Sylvia and Don enjoyed every minute. Sylvia loved to cook (and loved to eat even more) and looked for opportunity to help those she loved. Sylvia was an animal lover, having many dogs over the years and one cat. She had had many wonderful character qualities but was known give her beloved husband a hard time when she had the opportunity. She and Don loved each other in a special way, were a deeply devoted couple, and the family is thankful that they now rest in Heaven.
She is survived by her brother-in-law David Lederer of Watertown, son-in-law Michael Lindeman; granddaughters Heather (John), Heidi (Bryan, and Jennifer (Jeff); and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Sylvia is preceded in death by her parents, husband, stepchildren Scott Starke and Deborah Lindeman, and her siblings Patricia Stolarczyk, Robert Hall, Mary Toth, Pam Lederer, and Kristie Morris.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00PM on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Rock River Cemetery of Jefferson, where Sylvia and DonAllan will be laid to rest.
