RoxAnn Leverenz Obituary

“Life is a miracle. God is great. I have been blessed.” – RoxAnn Leverenz

RoxAnn Leverenz, 61 of Watertown, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at her home.

RoxAnn had a rare cancer, pheochromocytoma, of which she battled for four long years.  She did not do this alone, Jesus surrounded her the entire time and her faith only got stronger.  She was so brave and only cried one time.  She never felt sorry for herself.  She was strong for her family that was heartbroken.

RoxAnn loved children and children were drawn to her.  She enjoyed volunteering at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and School (serving with the ladies’ aid), 4-H (cooking and craft leader), and always lent a helping hand wherever needed.  She loved baking and cooking and even made wedding cakes.  Scrapbooking with her wonderful friends was another passion of hers.  During COVID and her treatments she started hatching monarch caterpillars, and like her treatments, she too had to have hope and persevere.  She was an amazing wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandma, daughter, sister, and friend.  She adored her grandchildren and was always the one to keep Grandpa and the kids out of trouble.  She was an amazing mother and raised three girls.  Her number one goal was to always keep the family together and her love is what has been the glue for this family.  She was a wonderful listener, counselor, and a voice of reason for whoever was calling on the phone.  Her love for her husband Gary of 41 years was unending and is something that every couple should strive for in life.  He was her sole caregiver and her biggest supporter.

RoxAnn is survived by her loving husband Gary and three daughters: Angela (Clint) Lenz, Tiffany (Corey) Johnson and Amber (Brian) Werth.  Grandchildren: Hunter and Hailey Lenz, Liliann and Emmett Johnson, and Jade Werth. Her loving Mother Ruby Betschler.  Siblings Roger (Laurie) Betschler, Ruthy (Ron) Berger, RaeJean Bueschel, Ricky Betschler.  Loving mother-in-law Nancy Leverenz.  Brother-in-laws: Jeff (Sandy) Leverenz, David (Janette) Leverenz, Dennis (Kathryn) Leverenz and many nieces, nephews and Godchildren.

Proceeded in death by her father Royal Betschler, father-in-law Clarence Leverenz, sibling-in-laws Greg Leverenz and Theresa Leverenz, and other relatives.

A Christian Memorial Service will be held at 3:00PM on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church of Helenville with Rev. Titus Buelow presiding.  Friends are invited to join the family for a visitation over coffee and dessert following the memorial service in the church basement.  Her earthly remains will be laid to rest at St. Peter’s Evergreen Cemetery.
