Ronald W. Biwer, 77 of Jefferson, died after an illness on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at UW-Hospital in Madison.

Ron was born on October 15, 1947, in Fort Atkinson, WI, the son of James and Valeria (Harder) Biwer.  He grew up in Jefferson, attended school there, and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1966.  He married Kathleen Moldenhauer on June 26, 1968 and the couple had 2 children.  Ron began working at Friskies in Jefferson in 1970 and retired after 30 years.  In his retirement, Ron ran Harder’s Bar – a multigenerational business and a job that he enjoyed thoroughly.  Ron loved Elvis, watched sports religiously, and was a talented woodworker.  He was his family’s on-call handyman, errand runner, and problem fixer.  He and Rick Wedl held the honored title of “Neighborhood Watchdogs”, a job they both did well.  Gin with olives was his drink of choice and he and Kathy enjoyed watching old westerns together.  He is remembered for his commitment to the ones he loved, his jolly laugh, and lighthearted spirit.  Even though he wanted things done his way, Ron was a great man, and he will be missed.

He is survived by: his wife of 57 years Kathy Biwer of Jefferson; children John (Patty Becker) Biwer and Lisa (Robert) Miller both of Jefferson; grandchildren Marissa (Victor), Kayla (Zachary), Lindsay (Zach), and Lacee (Tyler); great-grandchildren Lily, Hattie, Mitchell, Henry, and Jack; and his sister Julie (Amine) Bekhechi of Minnesota.  Ron is also survived by other family members and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Steven Streich, and other family members.

A public visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 24,2025, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Olsen-Gibson Funeral Home.  A private family funeral will be held at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Jefferson, with Rev. Christopher Raiford presiding.  He will be buried at Union Cemetery following the funeral.
