Rommel E. “Emilio” Rojas, 17 of Watertown, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at his home.

Born June 2, 2008, in Watertown WI, Emilio was the beloved son of Rommel and Melby (Mares) Rojas. He attended Watertown High School and had recently started working at Jason’s 5-Star Landscaping, a job he truly enjoyed. Emilio took pride in working outdoors, but he’d be the first to admit that payday was his favorite part.

Emilio had a sharp eye for style and loved dressing well. Music was always playing around him, and you’d find him with his AirPods, but nothing made him happier than spending time with his brother and nephew. A proud and constant snacker, he was known for requesting his mom’s signature five-course breakfasts, which he savored down to the last bite.

Though quiet by nature, Emilio had a big heart and a strong work ethic. His deep love for his family was evident in everything he did. He will be remembered for his calm and caring spirit, his humor, his quick comebacks, being extremely trustworthy, and the many small ways he made life brighter for those around him.

Emilio will be deeply missed and forever loved.

He is survived by: his parents Rommel and Melby (Mares) Rojas of Watertown; siblings Daisy (Brandon) Mares of Watertown, Rogelio (Alexia) Canas of Jefferson, and Jahir Rojas of Watertown.  Emilio is also survived by his niece and nephews, maternal grandparents, paternal grandmother, many aunts, uncles, cousins, other family members, and many friends.

He is proceeded in death by his paternal grandfather, and other loved ones.

A Christian funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, July 25, 2025, at St. Mark’s Ev. Lutheran Church with Rev. Karl Walther presiding.  Visitation will be Friday from 12:00PM until the time of service at the church.  He will be laid to rest at the Lutheran Cemetery Association in Watertown, WI following the funeral service.
