Roger W. Renz, 58 of Jefferson, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at Froedtert and the Medical School of Wisconsin in Wauwatosa.

Roger was born on March 2, 1966, in Fort Atkinson, WI, the son of Charles and Doreen (Fuller) Renz.  He grew up in the area and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1984.  While in high school, Roger was both an all-conference football player and wrestler and was on the swim team.  In 1991, he married Christina Stetzer in Jefferson and the couple had 2 children, but later divorced.  He drove a truck for most of his working life and owned and operated his own dump truck for over 20 years. Roger was an avid fisherman, hunter, and outdoorsman.  He loved to cut wood and sit on his deck, and one of his favorite activities was “talkin’ s---” on the CB Radio.  Roger had a rough exterior, but the kindest of hearts.  He had a soft spot for animals and was extremely generous with his time and talents.  He didn’t care if people liked him or not, and if he cared about someone, he cared deeply.  His family was the most important thing to him, and he will be dearly missed.

He is survived by: his parents Chuck and Doreen Renz of Fort Atkinson; children Brittany Renz and Mac Renz both of Jefferson; sisters Stacie Renz of Fort Atkinson and Denise (Mark) Priebe of Garnavillo, IA; ex-wife Christina Stetzer of Jefferson and his long-time girlfriend Laura Schave-Ray of Milford; his best friend Jim Klokow of Helenville; and loyal dog “Bandit”.  He is also survived by other family members and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, good friend Dale Wagner, and dogs Gunner, Rosie, April, and Yaeger.

A celebration of Roger’s life will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024 from12:00PM - 5:00PM at the Rock Lake Park (Upper Pavilion) at N6999 Rock Lake Rd. Lake Mills, WI 53551.
