Roger W. Provenzano, Sr., 84 of Jefferson, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2024, at Alden Estates of Jefferson.

Roger was born on August 3, 1940, at his Aunt Hazel’s house in Fort Atkinson, WI, the son of Frank and Estelle (Burhans) Provenzano.  He earned his high school diploma while serving his country in the U.S Army.  Roger was a Desert Storm Veteran and served in the Army Reserves until his retirement in 2002.  He was employed at Schweiger Industries in Jefferson and begun his career in 1973.   Roger married June Blegen at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Atkinson in 1970, and the couple had 7 children.  Roger had an interest in firearms and was an avid coin collector.  He was known to watch Wheel of Fortune and the news, daily.  Roger was a very sociable person and enjoyed people, keeping in touch with his friends and family and playing bingo.  He was a patriotic man and very proud of his military service.  His family is grateful for him, and he will be missed.

He is survived by: June Provenzano of Jefferson; children Lisa (Scott) Gutheridge of Lake Mills,  John of Jefferson, Roger Jr. (Erin) of East Peoria, IL, Angela (Kevin) James of Beloit, Jennifer (Carlos) Palamino of Jefferson, April (Jason) Crum of Fort Atkinson; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; and his sister Ramona Ziebell of Necedah.  Roger is also survived by a number of other family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Christine, siblings, and other family members.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at the Olsen-Gibson Funeral Home with Msgr. Donn Heiar presiding.  A visitation will be on Sunday from 1:00PM until the time of service at the funeral home with a military honor to follow.  His earthly remains will be laid to rest on at 10:00AM on Monday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Fort Atkinson.
