Roger G. Ehrke

Roger G. Ehrke, Sr., 85 of Jefferson, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at his home.

Roger was born on March 9, 1939, in Watertown, WI, the son of Gordon and Atlae (Fleck) Ehrke.  He graduated from Fort Atkinson High School in 1957 and married Rhona Hueber in 1964.  The couple had 4 children, later separated but remained close.  Roger was employed at Friskies in Jefferson for 30 years, serving as a Union Stuard for most of them, retiring in 1999.  Roger was heavily involved in farming in his youth, enjoyed woodworking, and remodeling.  His top priority was always his children.  He was at every family event, especially his grandchildren’s, and was quick to give good guidance and support.  Roger had a dry sense of humor and rarely complained, and he enjoyed being social.  He was a timely man, an extremely hard worker, and always dedicated to his family.  He will be missed.

He is survived by: his children Roger (Jana) Ehrke, Jr. of Jefferson, Russell Ehrke of Jefferson, Roxanne (Mark) Kingston of Ashippun; Rebecca Hosey of Boiling Springs, SC; 17 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; twin brother Robert (Norma) Ehrke of Fort Atkinson, siblings Loretta (Dave) Gerber of Blanchardville, Thomas (Debbie) Ehrke of Cambridge, and Richard Ehrke of Mauston; other family members and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, December 20, 2024, at the Olsen-Gibson Funeral Home with Rev. Christopher Raiford presiding.  Visitation will be on Thursday, December 19, 2024, from 4:00PM – 6:00PM and from 9:00AM until the time of service, both at the funeral home.  Roger will be laid to rest at Rockdale Lutheran Cemetery following the funeral service.
