Marshall, WI – Roger Kenneth Chadwick, 78, of Marshall, passed away on June 5th, 2023 peacefully at home.
Roger was born on April 14, 1945, in Stoughton Wisconsin, the son of Gerald and Helen (Suchomel) Chadwick. He was a 1963 graduate of Deerfield High School where he played football and baseball, was Homecoming King and served on Prom Court. He enjoyed being active and also played on the Deerfield Home Talent Baseball team and Fast Pitch Softball team for Bridge Lounge. He married the love of his life, Cecil Knapton on June 21, 1967, and they enjoyed 53 years together. Roger enjoyed spending time with his family and watching their athletic events. Roger worked for Marshall Public Schools for 38 years before retirement. He also served on the Marshall EMS for many years as a volunteer and was a trustee at the Marshall United Methodist Church. Roger and Cecil were honored to be the parade marshals in the 2016 Marshall Firemen’s Parade. In addition to his public service, Roger enjoyed nature and was sure to spend as much time outdoors as he could. He could often be found watching the birds out back on his porch or working on his yard, especially with his lawn tractor. Roger also loved fishing and hunting and shared these hobbies with his son and grandchildren. He was a member of Wings over Wisconsin for over 40 years and Fishing Hall of Fame for 50 years.
Survivors include: his son Timothy (Beth) Chadwick of DeForest; grandchildren Erinn (Sawyer) Wolff, Blake (Keirstin), and Morgan (Nathan); sister Janet Gyland of Rockdale. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, wife Cecil, and brother Dennis Chadwick.
