Robert S. “Steve” Runge, 65 of Jefferson, passed away at his home on Thursday, March 31, 2022 in Jefferson, WI.

Steve was born May 28, 1956, in Rockford, IL, the son of Virgil and Edith (Bridges) Runge. He married Judy Strasburg on December 28, 1974, in Lake Mills at the Lake Mills Moravian Church. Steve was a hobby farmer and enjoyed raising animals, especially chickens. He was an excellent storyteller and could tell the wildest stories that made everyone smile. Above all else, Steve was happiest when he was with his family and his grandkids, and he cherished all the time he spent with them.

Steve is survived by: his wife Judy Runge of Jefferson; children Rebecca (Daniel Renteria) Runge, Gabriel Runge, and Vincent Runge; grandchildren Primitivo Renteria and Anthony Renteria; siblings Virgil (Kris) Runge, Lynette (Bob) VanGuillder, Mark (Pamela) Runge, Rodney Runge and Denise Runge; and mother-in-law Lula Strasburg-West. Steve is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Steve is preceded in death by his parents and infant son Craig
