Robert L. Ott, 83 of Jefferson, passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at UW-Hospital of Madison.

He was born on July 19, 1939, in Jefferson, WI, the son of Leon and Kunigunda (Weber) Ott.  Bob graduated from Jefferson High School in 1957 and on May 18, 1963, he married Barbara Meyers at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Watertown.  The couple had 2 sons and enjoyed 59 years of marriage.  Bob worked as a produce grocer at the Kroger Grocery Store of Janesville.  Some of his interests included watching sports on TV and playing on his computer. He also was an avid fisherman in days past.  Above all other interests, were his grandchildren.  He attended all of their sporting events, invested in each of his grandkids, and adjusted his viewpoint in order to relate to theirs.  In short, Bob was an awesome grandpa and he loved them dearly.  He was known to be a long storyteller and had his own way of doing things.  He liked having a good time with his family and friends and he will be missed.

He is survived by: his wife Barb Ott of Jefferson; sons Jeff (Laura) Ott of Helenville, and Peter Ott of Burlington; 5 grandchildren Christian, Marcus, Dylan, Ryan, and Kylie; 3 sisters Kathleen Wagner of Hoffman Estates, IL, Mary Cunningham of Long Beach, CA, and Carolyn Braza of Salt Lake City, UT.  Bob is also survived by a number of other family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by: his parents and siblings Elwood Ott, Betty Shaw, and Barbara Erbs.

A private family service will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at the Olsen-Gibson Funeral Home with Fr. Tom Coyle presiding.
