Richard R. Wild

Richard R. Wild, 80 of Jefferson, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Alden Estates of Jefferson with his family at his bedside.

Richard was born on December 15, 1942, in Columbus, WI, the son of Henry and Grace (Krull) Wild, Sr.  Richard was raised in Southeastern Wisconsin and on February 26, 1963, he married Andrea “Ruth” Ferguson in St. Paul, MN and the couple had 5 children.  Dick worked as an auto mechanic, owning Dick’s Custom Service in Jefferson for many years and later worked at Grinwald Ford of Watertown.  Known as “Big Dicky”, he enjoyed woodworking, building things, and working with his hands in general.  Time spent outdoors, camping and fishing, were times cherished.  Above all other interests, family was his priority.  Dick loved his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews dearly.  He looked forward to their visits and upon arrival, his face would light up. He was a hardworking man, who was loved and appreciated by many, and he will be missed.

Richard is survived by: his wife Ruth Wild of Jefferson; children Keith (Tammy) Wild of Jefferson, Kristina (Douglas) Wisch of Fort Atkinson, Kerry (Candy) Wild of Paris, TX, and Kelli (David) Raiser of Watertown; 8 grandchildren Alex (Sierra), Kyle, Abi, Jacob, Jesse (Erin), Sara (Marc), Devin, and Sethy; 4 great-grandchildren Bailee, Brycen, Everleigh, and Attaleigh; and his siblings Larry Wild of Athens, and Dolly Bartz of Jefferson.  He is also survived by a number of other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, son Kevin, grandson Hunter and siblings Henry Wild, Jr., Babe Bartz, David Donald Wild, Jean Bobholz, and David Albert Wild.

A celebration of Richard’s life will be held from 11:00AM – 2:00PM on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at the Wayside Inn of Jefferson.
