Richard H. Rognsvoog, 94 of Somers, WI, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Home Inspired Senior Living of Somers.
He was born on April 11, 1931, in Racine, WI, to Harold and Naomi (Gillette) Rognsvoog. He grew up in Racine and was a graduate of Horlick High School. Richard married Elizabeth Karge on November 1st, 1954 in Racine,WI. The couple had 6 children and enjoyed 36 years of marriage until her death in October of 1991. He later married Dorothy Ludke in 1994. Richard and Dorothy enjoyed their life together, living in Amberg, WI, until her death in 2014. Richard was a long-time employee of the American Motors Co. and drove many miles as a truck driver. He also served his country in the US Marine Corp. during the Korean Conflict. He had a deep passion for steam-era locomotive trains, and his knowledge on the subject was vast and sought after. Richard looked to share his hobby with others and was involved in publishing (two) Milwaukee Road Railroad history books. His collection supplied the majority of pictures and blueprints used, a fact he was very proud of. He will be remembered for his hardworking nature and his dedication to his family.
Richard is survived by: his children, Sally (Jeff) Kimberlain, David (Tami) Rognsvoog, Dan (Leah) Rognsvoog, Donald Rognsvoog, and Christopher Rognsvoog; and grandchildren, Shanna (Jon) Yuhas, Jessica (Jermaine) Sorenson, Anthony Rognsvoog, Christopher Rognsvoog, Amanada Kimberlain, Dani Rognsvoog, Kayla Kimberlain, Reese Rogsvoog, and Grayson Rogsvoog. As well as 12 Great grandchildren and one expected great great grandson in May. In addition to many more family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wives, son Stephen, and siblings Chuck Rogsvoog and Barbara Strouf.
