Polly Ann Gaugert Obituary
Polly Gaugert, age 50 of Berlin, Wisconsin, passed away on February 5,2025. Polly is survived by her mother, Evelyn and her loving sisters, Susan (Richard) Trofka, and Beth Johnson. She is also survived by her nephews and nieces; Adam & Jane, Alex, Trent, and Claire Trofka and Jack and Kate Johnson. Ethan Trofka is Polly’s great nephew. Also surviving are her aunts, Mary Lu Bickle and Marion Holtz, uncles Jim Gottschalk and Donald (Valerie) Gottschalk. Polly was preceded in death by her father, Gilbert Gaugert, and other aunts and uncles. While attending Jefferson High School, as part of her TMR program, she was a trainee at Morgan & Myers. After graduation she worked at Opportunities, Inc. At the age of 28 she went to live at a group home, Victorian Splendor, in Lake Mills, under the direction of Dean Baldassari and Cathy Voigt. Along with Tony and Amy, this was her home for over 20 years. The family would like to acknowledge the loving care and support she received there.
The family would also like to thank Rainbow Hospice for almost two years of hospice care and Theda Care for the past six months of care. We are thankful for Dr. Philip Marden, her Oconomowoc Pediatrician, who helped her through many crisis situations in her younger years. We will forever be grateful for his compassion and his medical knowledge and direction.
We thank Pastor Dean Zemple, formally of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sullivan who visited her regularly while she lived at Victorian Splendor where he offered prayers and administered communion. We acknowledge Pastor Rob Schrader of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Berlin for the support he gave to Polly while she was a resident at Patriot Place. Thank you to Chaplain Ben of Theda Care Hospice who also aided her spiritually.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on at 11:00am on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at St. John’s Lutheran, Sullivan, WI, followed by a luncheon in the fellowship hall. Visitation will also be on Wednesday from 10:00am until the time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials to St. John’s Lutheran church would be appreciated.
