Paul W. Shilkey, 68 of Jefferson, passed away Friday, October 20, 2023, at his home.

Paul was born on February 12, 1955, in Watertown, WI, the son of Andrew and Delores (Gross) Shilkey. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1974 and joined the US Marine Corp soon after.  He was a radio operator and was stationed in 29 Palms, California, served in Korea, spent time in Okinawa, and was honorably discharged in 1983.  He continued his service to his country as a Reservist for some years after.  He was also employed as a welder at J-Star in Fort Atkinson for many years.  Paul’s family remembers him as an easy-going guy, who loved a good joke, and enjoyed meeting people.  A life-long bachelor, Paul valued his independence and loved his family dearly.

He is survived by: his siblings Steve “Gunner” (Betsy), Janis, Greg (Jean), and Mark Shilkey all of Jefferson.  Paul is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Andrew Jr. and Dennis, and his sisters Sharon and Mary Shilkey.

A visitation will be from 10:00AM – 11:00AM on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at the Olsen-Gibson Funeral Home.  Paul’s cremated remains will be laid to rest at St. Mary Magdeline Catholic Cemetery in Johnson Creek following the visitation at 11:30AM.
