Paul L. Ostopowicz

Paul Ostopowicz, age 55, of Sullivan, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 22, 2026.

He fought a long battle of Cancer and did so with so much grace.  He was born in Pewaukee, Wisconsin, on August 30, 1970, and grew up in Hartland, Wisconsin. After marrying Tina on March 4, 2000, they moved to Sullivan, Wisconsin, where Paul proudly spent the last 26 years of his life.

Paul was a man who brought light into every room he entered. He smiled often, and his warm presence made everyone feel instantly welcome. Known for his incredibly kind heart and generous spirit, Paul was always willing to help anyone in need, no matter the time or task.

His Catholic faith was extremely important to him, grounding him throughout his life. He found great comfort and community in attending regular Mass at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sullivan. Paul involved himself with the church community as much as he could, proudly serving on the parish council and helping with many annual turkey dinners. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and always wished he could be even more involved. Paul also deeply loved his time attending UW-La Crosse, where he formed deep connections with a wonderful group of newfound friends—bonds that truly lasted his entire lifetime.

A true lover of nature, Paul was happiest when he was outdoors. He found great joy in hiking, camping, mountain biking with his bro and spending quiet hours tending to his garden. Playing numerous board games with his daughters and brothers was also a favorite pastime, and it was an activity he always wished he could do even more often. He was also an avid reader and music lover—two passions he beautifully passed down to his children, whom he lovingly read to every single night before bed when they were growing up. Summer was a particularly special time for Paul, as the highlights of his season were always the annual family trips to Hayward, annual family camping trips, and memorable trips to the Boundary Waters.

His profound empathy was beautifully reflected in his career. Paul worked at Pantheon Industries for 25 years as a supervisor of developmentally disabled adults, where he possessed an endless amount of patience and dedication. He then changed careers and spent the following 6 years at Kem Tech Industries as a production supervisor, where he enjoyed working alongside his co-workers and employees.

Above all else, Paul was a deeply devoted family man. He was married to his beloved wife, Tina, for 26 beautiful years, building a life filled with love and shared memories. His girls were his world, and he loved his daughters beyond words. He always enjoyed simply being with them and truly cherished listening to their stories about their friends, work, and sports. His daughters were his absolute pride and joy.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Tina; his adored daughters, Claire, Alexandria, and Abigail; his mother, Carol; and his brothers, Michael (Nicholl) and Brian (Casey). He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Ostopowicz.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 12:00PM on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at St. Mary’s Help of Christians Catholic Church in Sullivan.  Visitation will be on Wednesday from 10:00AM until the beginning of Mass at the church.  He will be laid to rest at the parish cemetery following the service.
