Pablo “Paul” Camacho, 85 of Jefferson, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2025, at his home.
Paul was born on November 30, 1939, in Pearsall, TX, the son of Tomas and Santiaga (Cerna) Camacho.  He began high school in Pearsall, then moved to Rockford, IL, attending Rockford East High School, but returned to Pearsall and graduated from Pearsall High School in 1959.  He married Jean Schroeder on November 26, 1994, in Lake Mills, WI.  Paul worked many jobs throughout his life but was most proud to work as a Spanish interpreter for Jefferson County, the police department, and the medical industry.  Paul loved golf and was quite good, enjoying many rounds on local courses.  He had a deep appreciation for Tejano Music and enjoyed dancing.  His team was the Kansas City Chiefs, and he enjoyed following and celebrating their recent success.  Above all other interests, Paul had a heart for the Latino people in Jefferson County.  He was an advocate for their betterment, serving the community with his many talents.  He will be missed.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Camacho of Jefferson; children Michelle (Steve) Vaughan of Waukesha, Patricia (Gary) Allen of San Antonio, TX, Andrew Camacho of Milwaukee, Paul (Sherri) Camacho of Waukesha, Toni (Ryan) Hill of Lake Mills, Kristin (Tyler) Nelson of Middleton, Anthony Camacho of Jefferson, Kristina (Tony Inzeo) Camacho of Waukesha, and Isabella Camacho of Jefferson; grandchildren Tyler (Nikki), Brian (Kayla), Marisa (Adrian), Thalia, Sophia, and McKenna; great-grandchildren Tenley, Callie, William, and Cameron; siblings Manuel (Aurelia) Camacho of Pearsall, TX, Santiago “Jim” (Pat) Camacho of Adams, and Victoria Camacho of Pearsall, TX; and siblings-in-law Jim (Cristy) Perez-Schroeder of Jefferson, Clifton Gonzales of San Antonio, Jerald (Jill) Schroeder of Mineral Wells, TX, Joan Schroeder of Jefferson, Donald Schroeder of Fort Atkinson.  Paul is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Tomas (Josephine) Camacho, Jr., Guadalupe (Juan) Gauna, Isabella Gonzales, Ruben (Margie) Camacho, and Ramon and Isabella Camacho, both in infancy, and brother-in-law Timothy Schroeder.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 12:00PM on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Jefferson with Fr. Jorge Miramontes presiding.  Visitation will be from 10:00AM until the time of Mass at the church.  Paul will be laid to rest in the Catholic Cemetery West in Pearsall, TX at a later date.
