Michael I. Steinke

Michael I. Steinke, 67 of Jefferson, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at Fort Memorial Hospital of Fort Atkinson.

Mike was born January 31, 1955, the son of Erwin and Vivian (Bentley) Steinke. He was a 1973 graduate of Jefferson High School. Mike appreciated the outdoors and would often ride his bike and go for walks when he was able to. He loved to spend time visiting his children and grandchildren, and liked to participate in geocaching with them. Above all else, Mike was a true sportsman. He always had a game on, whether it was the Milwaukee Bucks or the Milwaukee Brewers. Mike was a talented softball player and would start up a game anytime there was a bat and ball around. He will be missed by all those who knew him.

Mike is survived by: his sons Douglas (Kristine) Steinke of Green Bay, Craig (Rachel) Steinke of Menomonee and Colin (Kirsten) Steinke of Lake Mills; grandchildren Jessica, Abigail, Matthew “Chuck”, Ethan, Ainzlee, and Morgan; siblings Rhonda (Art) Kracht of Manitowoc, Karla (David) Carnes of Jefferson, and Darcey (Steve) Hein of Jefferson. Mike is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents, and brother Dave Steinke in 2013.
