On September 10, 1983, Mike married Shelley Sargent at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church of Monona. The couple had 2 children and enjoyed being together. Mike loved to travel, especially with the “Easy Landing Traveling Group”. Spending time outdoors – watching and learning about birds was a passion, and later he taught his children and grandchildren about the subject. He loved walking, watching sunsets, and seeing new places. Mike was a man of few words but communicated clearly. His kindness, generosity, and love are fondly remembered. Mike was the happiest when he was being referred to as “Grandpa Mike”. His faith, family, and friends were the things most important to him and he will be sorely missed.
