Mathew G. “Matt” Stroede, Sr., 70 of Johnson Creek, WI, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.

Matt was born on November 28, 1954, in Madison, WI, the son of George and Oleva “Sadie” (Bartels) Stroede.  He attended Lafollette High School and was employed by Midwest Heating, both of Madison.  He later went on to be a long-time member of Local 601 Steamfitters union, until his retirement.  He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing.  Other activities Matt enjoyed include trips to local casinos and spending time with his beloved dog and “forever friend”, Nina.  He will be missed.

Matt is survived by: his mother Sadie Stroede; children Mathew (Kristin) Stroede, Jr. and Kari (Keith) Marks; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters Sherry Trainor and Billie Joe (Ronald) Stroede-Musillami; and special friend Delores Vesper.  He is also survived by 2 nieces, 3 nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his father and brother-in-law Owen Trainor.
