Mary L. Chaffey

Mary L. Chaffey, 74 of Sullivan, died on Friday, December 11, 2020 at her home.

Mary was born on December 3, 1946 in Elkhorn, WI, the daughter of Richard and Mary (Bealhen) Adsit.  She grew up in the in Southeastern Wisconsin and married David Chaffey in 1964 in California.  The couple enjoyed 40 years of marriage until his death in 2005.   Mary and David lived in California while David was in the US Air Force and later moved back to Sullivan.  Mary offered an in-home daycare service for most of her working years.  She loved being involved in children’s lives and was close to many as they grew.  Mary was a crafter and artist.  She spent many hours collecting and working with her vast collection of art supplies.  She was a talented cook and enjoyed sharing her gifts with the one’s she loved.  Mary was a devout Christian and was able to touch many people, showing them the love of Christ.  Although she will miss her dearly, the family is finding comfort knowing that she is with her Savior in Heaven.

Mary is survived by: her daughter Michele Chaffey of Stockton, CA; and grandchildren Levi and Samantha Breedlove.  Mary is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband.

A celebration of Mary’s life will be held at a later date.
