Lynn Gadzinski Obituary

Lynn Gadzinski, 84, of Jefferson, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center in Johnson Creek.

Lynn was born on August 8, 1941, in Lena, WI, the daughter of Rueben and Blanche (Fallada) Jindra.  She graduated from Two Rivers High School in 1959, continued her schooling at UW-Madison earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Art Education in 1963. She later earned a Master of Science degree in Educational Administration from UW-Milwaukee in 1989.  On August 10, 1963, Lynn married Donald Gadzinski in Two Rivers and the couple enjoyed 55 years of marriage until his death in 2018 residing in Manitowoc and after retirement in Jefferson, WI.  Lynn taught art classes in Two Rivers where she grew up and later was the high school principal in Kohler, WI.  She was an avid reader, her true happy place, and a talented artist. Common themes with Lynn were: all I need is a patch of sunshine and a good book, let the food be the entertainment and of course, life is uncertain so eat dessert first.  She spent valuable time with her family and friends, volunteering in the grade school art room, church library and what used to be Countryside.  Attending her grandsons sporting events were a source of pride and joy. She and Don loved to travel and she enjoyed letting her hair blow in the breeze in her yellow convertibles throughout the years.

She was a gentle, yet strong leader, a dignified lady, accepting, understanding, and managing life with humor; as in her words is good medicine. She encouraged others to be themselves, do their best and be content.  She was patient and confident in her life position, and called herself out as being an exceptionally slow eater; savoring the good stuff, especially chocolate, macaroons, pie and ice cream.  She appreciated all of life’s moments, taking things at her personal pace. She will be dearly missed.

Lynn is survived by: her daughters Andi (Jeff) Simmons of Lodi and Alee (Mike) Mayhew of Jefferson; grandsons A.J. (Alissa) Simmons and Gabe (Courtney) Gerke; great-grandsons Henry and Maddux Simmons; grandpup Winston, relatives and many dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her sister Wendy Mauzy.

The family would like to express a sincere thank you to her caregivers who allowed her to remain in her home as long as she could, maintaining her quality of life with laughter, love and happiness.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00PM on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church of Jefferson with Rev.
