Luella M. Voight Obituary
Luella M. Voight, 90 of Helenville, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 25, 2025, at her home.
Luella was born on September 15, 1934, in Watertown, WI, the daughter of Louis and Irene (Eggert) Borck. She graduated from Watertown High School in 1951, and married Robert Voight on June 24, 1953, at St. Luke’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Watertown. The couple had 4 children and enjoyed 67 years of marriage until his death in 2022. Luella worked for many years as the head cook at the Jefferson County Jail, but her true passion was as a wife and homemaker. Her gardens were her pride and joy, and summers were spent planting, tending, enjoying, and canning the fruits of her many flower and vegetable gardens. Winter activities included sewing, cooking and baking! Although she made culinary goodies often, there were seldom any left, when it was Luella’s turn to eat! In 1981, Luella and Bob purchased their family cabin in Rhinelander. THIS is where Luella loved being most. Many family members made the trip multiple times in the summer months to enjoy time spent in the North Woods and fishing the many favorite spots. The family still cherishes this piece of property and are looking forward to using it in Luella and Bob’s honor for many years to come.
She is survived by: her children Cynthia (Rickie) Schroeder of Lake Mills, Michael (Holly) Voight of Jefferson, Sharon (Patrick) Griffin of Jefferson, and Kenneth (Diann) Voight of Fort Atkinson; 12 grandchildren Renee (Luke), Jesse (Rachel), Ashley (JC), Andrew (Katy), Aaron, Crystal (Jason), Cassandra (Jamie), Alyssa (James), Angie, Kelly (Jake), Jennifer, and Jonathon (Sarah); 26 great-grandchildren; 1 great, great-grandchild; a sister Mary (Myron) Moldenhauer of Watertown, and her sister-in-law Elaine Borck of Waterloo.
Luella is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers Ervin and Clarence Borck, and her sister Hazel Meyer.
The family would like to express a sincere thank you to the staff of Rainbow Community Care for the love care provided.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church would be appreciated.
