Louise Beverly (Dolly) Fritch Carter died Sunday, March 1, 2026, with family present.
Louise was born on September 3, 1953, in Columbus, WI to Reuben and Rosina (Pfeifer) Fritch. Louise was a 1971 graduate of Jefferson High School. She was confirmed in her faith in 1968.
Louise maintained membership with St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Jefferson, WI throughout her life. She attended UW-Eau Claire and UW-Whitewater. Louise worked at various manufacturing and retail businesses. In her 40's she participated in a Bausch & Lomb Macular Degeneration Study conducted at Froedtert Eye Institute in Milwaukee. This 5-year study helped to develop the Areds2 Eye Vitamin.
On July 20,1974, Louise married Charles K. Carter at St Marks in Jefferson. They had one son, Corbett C. Carter (Catherine) Cambridge, WI, a granddaughter Violet Rose Carter (Billings, Mt.), special granddaughter Grace Miller, and her daughter Blue (Manitou Springs, Co). Others include niece Cyd Bickford, and nephews Greg (Fran) Fritch and Randy Fritch. There are also 3 great nephews and 1 great niece, 3 great-great nephews and nieces.
Louise is also survived by her sister (by-choice) Valerie Cole (Whitewater, WI) and godsons Jim Pfeifer (Fort Atkinson) and Dr. Andrew Cole (Sarah) (De Pere, WI).
She was proceeded in death by her parents, brothers Lloyd (Red) Fritch and Raymond Fritch, sister-in-law Rosemary (Robertson) Fritch, niece Dr. Rae Denise Fritch, and numerous aunts & uncles.
Louise enjoyed time with family & friends, motorcycle trips, playing cards, shopping, and watching Packers & Brewers games. Louise was also a member of the Jefferson Historical Society.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Mark's Church or the Jefferson Historical Society would be appreciated.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 16, 2026, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church of Jefferson with Rev. Christopher Raiford presiding. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of service at the church. A luncheon will be served in the church basement following the service. Burial will be at a later date in Union Cemetery.
