Loretta “Lori” C. Zick (Gard), age 63, of Sullivan, passed away at her home on January 11, 2025. Born on July 18, 1961, in Milwaukee, WI, Lori was the daughter of Norbert and Ramona (Nissen) Gard. She was raised in Sullivan, attended Sullivan Elementary School, and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1980. In 1993, Lori married William Zick in Dousman, WI, and together they were blessed with two daughters.

When her daughters were young, Lori began working at the Jefferson County Department of Human Services as a front desk representative. Throughout her multi-decade career, she became the first point of contact for countless individuals, forming many connections and encountering a wide variety of situations.

Lori was the life of the party and prioritized enjoying life to the fullest. She cherished time spent at the beach, near the ocean, or lounging by the pool, basking in the sun. A funny, sensitive, caring, and kind woman, Lori was deeply devoted to her family. Her free-spirited nature shone through in her love of tie-dye, Harley-Davidson rides, and spending time in the great outdoors. Lori will always be remembered for her sassy attitude, vibrant personality, and unwavering dedication to the people she loved most.

Lori is survived by:  her husband, William, daughters Lacey (T.J. Cobb) of Waunakee, and Samantha of Madison, WI, her cherished bonus daughter, Lauren Stiemke of Jefferson, and Lauren’s children, Lucy and Silas, whom she adored as her bonus grandchildren, siblings Bernadette (Steven) Ruder of Ft. Meyers, FL, Dolores McDermott of Ft. Meyers, FL, Charles (Donna) Gard of Jefferson, Robert Gard of Sullivan, Terrence (Diane) Gard of Oconomowoc, and Lawrence (Shelly) Gard of Whitewater.  She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends, along with her beloved cat, Nermal, who brought her immense joy, comfort, and companionship.  Lori is preceded in death by her parentsand brothers James Gard and Timothy Gard.

A celebration of life will be held at Good Spirits in Sullivan from 2-6pm on February 1, 2025.
