Lisa J. Maier Obituary
Lisa J. Maier, 60 of Jefferson, passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at UW Hospital in Madison.
Lisa was born on April 27, 1963, in Racine, WI, the daughter of David and Wanda (McLaughlin) Russell. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1981. As a young person, Lisa was always happy, always smiling, very sweet, and loved hanging out with her friends. In 1992, she was in a very serious automobile accident, leaving her with severe physical limitations. Lisa always struggled to maintain her independence and was able to live on her own for many years. Lisa was a bird lover. She always had her beloved cockatiel on her shoulder. Her favorite things were spending time with her family, shopping and watching tv. She attended St. Marks church in Jefferson with her parents until her father’s death in October of 2011. Lisa had a strong faith and loved our Lord Jesus Christ. We are sure she is walking with him even now.
Lisa is survived by her mother Wanda Russell of Jefferson, daughter Megan Maier of Sun Prairie; grandchildren Darla and Aspen; siblings Craig (Cindy) Russell of Janesville, Scott (Kyong Hu) Russell of (Sterling), VA, Roxanne (Peter) Endl of Jefferson, Rhonda (Larry) Mau of (Franklin), NC, and Kathleen (Jeff Jahnke) Patterson of Jefferson. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Preceding Lisa in death are her father and brother Bradley M. Russell.
A private family memorial will be held. She will be buried in the Russell family plot in Union Cemetery of Jefferson.
