Leslie G. Kloss, 79, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at the UW-Madison Hospital in Madison, WI surrounded by his loved ones.
Les was born on August 15, 1943 in Chicago, IL the son of Clarence and Dolores (Brown) Kloss. He moved to Wisconsin at a young age and graduated from Johnson Creek High School in 1961. He was united in marriage to Sharon Vogel on September 22, 1962 at the Farmington Lutheran Church and the couple would go on to enjoy over 60 years of marriage together. They were blessed with two sons, Troy and Chad. Les worked for WE Energies Company for the majority of his working career, retiring in 2006. He enjoyed a long career of 38 years for WE Energies serving in the Natural Gas field and took pride in providing for his family. An avid outdoorsman, Les had many hobbies and interests and most of them took place out in God’s creation. He loved to hunt all kinds of animals, fish, swim, and boat just to name a few. He was also a volunteer Stream Monitor for a time and was very proud of this conservation work. Les was a man of faith and he and Sharon were long time members of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Jefferson. Above all else, Les was proud of his family. He was a great husband and father and was extremely proud of his grandchildren. He devoted much time to his grandkids and was very involved in their lives and loved them dearly. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by: his loving wife, Sharon Kloss of Jefferson, WI; his two sons, Troy (Elissa Friedl) Kloss of Lake Mills, and Chad (Lisa Elton) Kloss of Racine; his dear grandchildren, Kennedi, Kayla (Luke Berndt), and Kassie; his sister, Diane (Mike) Schoep; his brother-in-law, Tom (Karen) Vogel of Minocqua; his sister-in-law Bunny (Jim) Kuehn of Jefferson; and his canine companion Lambeau. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Ken Kloss.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, August 4, 2023 at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Jefferson, WI. The Rev. Joshua Martin will officiate the service. Visitation will take place from 9:00AM until the time of service at the church.
