Kris M. Sutton, 56 of Harland, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Alden Estates of Jefferson.

Kris was born on December 15, 1969, in Cudahy, WI, the daughter of David and Lynn (Vandenberg) Phelps.  She is a graduate of Cudahy High School and married Kenneth Sutton on June 2, 2006, in Cudahy.  She was employed as a Dental Lab Technician, with most of her professional years spent at Lakeside Dental Lab in Cudahy.  From her years of dental experience, Kris had a knack for pointing out people’s dental work, a fact that always made her family chuckle.  She was a great storyteller, appreciated animals deeply, and crocheted many projects.  She was known to document many sunrises and sunsets through photography and never took any of life’s challenges too seriously.  Her self-confidence was noteworthy, and she never wanted anyone to feel excluded.  Kris will be remembered for light-hearted spirit and love for her family.

She is survived by: her husband Kenneth Sutton of Hartland; son Jeremy (Courtney) Phelps of Muskego; grandchildren Leanna and Henry; and her brother Keith (April) Phelps of Cudahy.  Kris is also survived by a number of other family members and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service honoring Kris’ life will be held at 12:00PM, on Sunday, May, 17, 2026, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Cudahy.
