Joyce A. Blank

Joyce A. Blank, 84 of Waterloo, passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at the Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center of Johnson Creek.

Joyce was born on March 24, 1939, in Watertown, WI, the daughter of Harold and Eleanore (Strauss) Wright.  She attended Jefferson High School, graduating in 1957.  On September 7, 1957, she married Loran Blank, at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Jefferson.  The couple had 4 children and enjoyed 39 years of marriage until his death in 1987.  She enjoyed sewing and quilting, gardening, shopping with family and friends and scrapbooking.  Joyce was loved by many and will be missed.

Joyce in survived by: her children Sherry (Roger) Stark of Lake Mills, Julie Strasburg of Marshall, Greg (Jeanie) Blank of Jefferson, and Cindy (Mark) Gorkowski of Lake Mills; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren, and 1 great, great-granddaughter; and her siblings Harold (Jean) Wright, Jr. of Jefferson, Elmer (Karen) Wright of Huntington, IN, Richard (Sandra) Wright of Huntertown, IN, Linda Punzel of Jefferson, George (Kathy) Wright of Watertown, Charles (Annette Kubly) Wright of Johnson Creek, and Alan (Julie) Wright of Johnson Creek.  Joyce is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She is preceded in death by: her parents, husband, grandson Noah, great-grandson Brantley, sisters Cathryn and Carol in infancy, sister Sandra Johnson, brother Kenneth Wright, and brother-in-law Robert Punzel.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00PM on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church of Jefferson with Rev. Bruce McKenney of St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church presiding.  Visitation will be on Thursday from 10:00AM until the time of service at the church.  Joyce will be laid to rest at Union Cemetery following the funeral.
