Jorge A. Calzadas Aguilar

Jorge A. Calzadas Aguilar, 21 of Jefferson, passed away on June 15, 2021 in Texarkana, TX.

Jorge was born August 26, 1999 to Elvia Calzadas Aguilar in Xalapa, Vera Cruz, Mexico. Soccer was a special part of Jorge’s life, and he shared that with those around him. He loved to listen to music, especially rap, and even wrote his own songs. In his free time, he enjoyed the outdoors and often went hiking. Time spent with family was cherished by Jorge, and he touched the lives of those around him, particularly children. Jorge appreciated his faith and read the Bible, deepening his understanding of God’s word, so that he could tell others about Christ’s love.  He was a wonderful father, son, brother and friend and he will be dearly missed.

He is survived by: grandmother Margarita Aguilar Hernandez of Jefferson; mother Elvia Calzadas Aguilar of Jefferson; son Santiago De la Cruz Calzadas of Jefferson; brothers Eduardo (Amanda) Garcia Calzadas of Jefferson, Keegan De la Rosa of Jefferson, and Michael De la Rosa de Jefferson. Jorge is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, other family members and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather Lorenzo Calzadas Hernandez.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 12:00PM on Monday June 21, 2021 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Jefferson with Fr. Jorge Miramontes presiding. Visitation will take place on June 20, 2021 from 3:00PM-7:00PM at the Olsen-Gibson Funeral Home of Jefferson.  NOTE - There will be no visitation on Monday before the Mass.  Jorge will be laid to rest at Rock River Cemetery following the Mass.

The family is requesting that their guests honor Jorge by wearing white.

Jorge A. Calzadas Aguilar, de 21 años de Jefferson, falleció el 15 de Junio del 2021 en Texarkana, TX.

Jorge nació el 26 de Agosto del 1999 en Xalapa, Veracruz, México, hijo de Elvia Calzadas Aguilar. El fútbol era una parte especial en la vida de Jorge y lo compartía con quienes lo rodeaban. Le encantaba escuchar música, especialmente el rap, incluso escribió sus propias canciones. En su tiempo libre, disfrutaba del aire libre y  iba de excursiónes. Jorge apreciaba el tiempo que pasaba con su familia y tocó la vida de todos que lo rodeaban, en particular los niños. Jorge apreció su fe y leyó la Biblia, profundizando su comprensión de la palabra de Dios, para poder contarles a otros sobre el amor de Jesus Cristo. Fue un padre, hijo, hermano y amigo maravilloso y lo extrañaremos mucho.

Le sobreviven:  Su abuela Margarita Aguilar Hernandez de Jefferson;

Madre Elvia Calzadas Aguilar de Jefferson; su hijo Santiago De la Cruz Calzadas de Jefferson; 3 hermanos Eduardo (Amanda) García Calzadas de Jefferson, Keegan De la Rosa de Jefferson y Michael De la Rosa de Jefferson. A Jorge también le sobreviven muchas tías, tíos, primos, Y otros miembros de la familia y muchos amigos.

Le antecede en la muerte su abuelo Lorenzo Calzadas Hernández.

Se llevará a cabo una misa a las 12:00 P. M. El lunes 21 de Junio del 2021 en la iglesia católica St. John the Baptist de Jefferson con el Padre Jorge Miramontes. El velorio se llevará a cabo el 20 de junio del 2021 de 3:00 p.m. a 7:00 p.m. en la funeraria Olsen-Gibson de Jefferson. NOTA - No habrá visitas el lunes antes de la misa. Jorge será enterrado en el Rock River Cemetery después de la misa.
