Joel R. Skibbe, 22 of Jefferson, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at his home.

Joel was born on May 11, 2002, at Froedtert Medical Center in Milwaukee, the son of Larry and Tracey (Wilkening) Skibbe.  Joel was born 3 months early and came out fighting.  He graduated from Jefferson High School in 2020 and began working at Generac soon after.  Joel enjoyed his job and developed many skills, and even though he didn’t love change, Joel had the ability to learn and do most jobs.  He enjoyed many outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, and shooting pumpkins with all sorts of different ammunition.  He was also an avid video game player and gave his dad a hard time often.  Although he struggled, he was very loved by his father and friends.  He will be missed.

Joel is survived by: his father Larry Skibbe of Jefferson; his maternal grandmother Allison Teneman of Big Bend; Aunt Kari Kienast, other family members and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, his mother in 2012, a brother William in infancy, and his uncle Troy.

An open house will be held from 4:00PM – 7:00PM, with a time of sharing at 7:00PM, on Friday, December 20, 2024, at the Olsen-Gibson Funeral Home.  He will be buried at Hebron Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials in Joel’s honor to the Jefferson County Suicide Prevention Team.  Memorial can be made payable to Jefferson County Human Resources.
