Jesse E. Carter, 79 of Fort Atkinson, died on Friday, July 12, 2019 at Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center of Johnson Creek.
Jesse was born on March 15, 1940 in the state of Arkansas, the son of Obrey and Ura (Barker) Carter. On June 14, 1958, Jesse married Judith Ann Moreau in Rockford, IL, and the couple had 4 children. Jesse worked for the City of Rockford in the Maintenance Department for many years and retired in 2005. Jesse loved to gamble and spend time fishing. He could fix anything from cars to kitchen sinks and enjoyed motorcycles. He was certified mechanic and added to his “collections” by attending flea markets on Sundays. Jesse was an excellent husband, father, friend and he took exceptional pride in his work. His standard of work was second to none. He was the kind of employee that employers dreamed of. Jesse was a man of character and he will be dearly missed.
He is survived by: his children Tim (Karyl) Carter of Beloit, Michael (Taressa) Carter of Rockford, IL, Lori Carter of Fort Atkinson, and Mark (Truda Rogers) Carter of South Beloit, IL; grandchildren Nicholas, Keith, Joseph, Heather, Jesse, Amanda, Jacob, and Brittany; siblings Edward (Jan) Carter, Bonnie (Jim) Fowler, Junior Carter, and Judy Kay Carter.
Jesse is preceded in death by his parents, wife in 2016, and his twin brother Gerald at birth.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
