Jeremy J. "Jay" Smith

Jeremy J. “Jay” Smith, 55 of South Milwaukee, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at UW-Hospital of Madison, with his family at his bedside.

Jay was born on April 8, 1970, in Dubuque, IA, and graduated from Pewaukee High School in 1988.  He was employed as a truck driver for most of his working years.  Jay had a deep appreciation for automotive beauty and was the proud owner of a 2003 Ford Mustang, affectionately known as his “girlfriend”.  He could often be found outdoors, whether at a concert, airshow, or spending time on the water.  He will be remembered for his love of the musical group Lynyrd Skynyrd and his kindness.  He was always quick with a funny joke and loved the people closest to him deeply.

Jay is survived by his mother, children, cousins, other family members, and many friends.

A celebration of Jay’s life is being planned for the near future.
