Jeffrey W. Bartos Obituary

Jeffrey W. Bartos, 61 of Sullivan, WI, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2023, at his home.

Jeff was born on April 17, 1962, in Chicago, IL, the son of Fred and Carol (Weidner) Bartos.   He graduated from Amos Alonzo Stagg High School in Palos Heights, IL in 1980 and moved to California soon after.  While there, he joined the Air Force Nation Guard, serving for 12 years and seeing the world.  Jeff loved adventure, travel, and Motorcycles. Spending time on the water fishing was always a favorite activity. Being an avid Harley-Davidson rider, it is understandable that he was married to Kathleen Tuohy-Mauer on the back of a Harley on November 17, 2017, in Las Vegas.  The couple met while working at AT&T in Schaumburg, IL in 2006 and loved to spend time together with family and friends.  Jeff had a weird (and endearing) sense of humor that some people didn’t understand, but he loved to make people laugh.  He was a goofy guy with a wonderful personality and was truly “one of a kind”.  He loved to talk, but even more so, was a great listener.  Jeff was a hardworking guy, who was loved dearly by his family and friends.  He was a wonderful husband, son, father and friend and he will be missed.

Jeff is survived by: his mother Carol Bartos of Arlington Heights, IL; wife Kathleen Mauer of Sullivan, WI; children Angela Bartos of Oak Brook Terrace, IL, Maria Bartos of Franklyn Park, IL, and Jennifer Bartos of Oak Brook Terrace, IL; granddaughter Love Garibay; and his sister Teri (Bob) Freer of Rolling Meadows, IL.  He is also survived by a his nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He is preceded in death by: his father, son Anthony, and brother Rick Bartos.
