Janice L. Witte

Janice L. Witte, 78 of Jefferson, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at Fort Memorial Hospital.

Janice was born in Fort Atkinson, WI, the daughter of Alfred “Fritz” and Lorene (Clinkenbeard) Witte.  She grew up in in the Jefferson area and attended school there.  She was a longtime employee of Countryside (now Alden Estates) working in the kitchen.  Janice maintained a newspaper delivery route for the Daily Jefferson County Union and she walked it, carrying her papers in her signature red wagon.  Her cats were very important to her, and she looked forward to shopping trips to Wal-Mart.  A HUGE Elvis fan, she enjoyed his music and memorabilia and admired him for much of her life.  Green Bay Packers games were watched every Sunday, and Janice loved her family dearly.  She will be missed.

She is survived by: her sister Judy Witte and Donna (Paul Essock) Schneider both of Jefferson; nieces and nephews Kimbrly Timm, Michelle (Jeff Lefave), Tyler, and Grant; great-nieces and nephews Chloe, Aaron, Hunter, and Olivia.   Janice is also survived by a number of other family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the family would be appreciated.

Janice is preceded in death by her parents.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
