Janice E. Shilkey

Janice E. Shilkey, 74 of Jefferson, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at Timberwood Lodge of Lake Mills.

Janice was born on December 28, 1949, in Fairbanks, AK, (before Alaska was a US State) the daughter of Andrew and Delores (Gross) Shilkey. She graduated from Jefferson High School in the late 1960’s and began working as a laborer in the food processing industry.  She worked in area business throughout the years but retired from Wal-Mart in Watertown in 2012.  Janice was an avid reader, consuming mostly paperback novels.  She was also a sci-fi fan and watched movies on the topic often.  Her dogs were very important to her also.  Janice was a very quiet person and very much a homebody, but she was loved by her family dearly.

She is survived by: her siblings Steve “Gunner” (Betsy), Greg (Jean), and Mark Shilkey all of Jefferson.  Janice is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Janice is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Andrew Jr., Dennis, Paul and his sisters Sharon and Mary Shilkey and a sister in infancy.

A visitation will be from 10:00AM – 11:00AM on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at the Olsen-Gibson Funeral Home.  Janice’s cremated remains will be laid to rest at St. Mary Magdeline Catholic Cemetery in Johnson Creek following the visitation at 11:30AM.
