Jane E. Whiteaker, 77 of Elkhorn, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at Alden Estates in Jefferson.
Jane was born in Agusta, WI, the daughter of Henry and Esther (Wolfgang) Zillmer. On October 30, 1965, Jane married Milton “Larry” Whiteaker at Christ Lutheran Church in Paddock Lake, WI. The couple enjoyed 47 years of marriage, until Larry’s death in February of 2013. Jane worked as a Custodian for the Mukwonago School District for many years and retired in the early 2000’s. Jane enjoyed many different craft and art projects. She and Larry also spend many days atop of their beloved motorcycle, seeing the country. She cared deeply for her family and was always quick to help where her children and grandchildren needed her. She enjoyed many social activities throughout her life, and she will be dearly missed by those who knew her.
Jane is survived by: her children Lavonne Whiteaker-Eales of Oshkosh, Michelle (Todd) Vaughn of Elkhorn, and Michael Bolle-Whiteaker of Milwaukee; grandchildren Garrett Eales, Jordan (Rachel) Vail, Kayla (Marcus) Schamerhorn, Ross (Kaylee) Vaughn, and Seth Vaughn; great-granddaughter Addison Schamerhorn; in-lays Tom Larson, Carol Zillmer, and Delaine Whiteaker. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son-in-law Allan Eales, Jr., her stepfather Fulton Sumpter, sisters Betty Larson, Barbara (Roger) Hagen, Dorothy (John) Mayer, and brother David Zilmer. Jane is also preceded by other family members.
As per Jane’s wishes, her cremated remains will be buried at Wood Cemetery in Tomah, WI in the near future.
