James Sontag Obituary

James W. Sontag, 60 of Jefferson, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2022, at his home is Jefferson.

Jim was born on October 13, 1962, in Neenah, WI, the son of Leon and Rose (Young) Sontag.  He grew up in the Neenah area and moved to Whitewater before beginning high school.  He attended Whitewater High School and later earned his GED.  He worked for many years in the area.  Jim loved to fish and did it often.  He attended concerts and festivals and enjoyed music of all kinds.  He bowled often and enjoyed playing cards and throwing darts.  He was a social person and a good friend.  Although he struggled, his children knew he loved them, and he will be missed.

Jim is survived by: his children Jamie Dowling of Mukwonago, Jennifer (Josh) Gleaser of Palmyra, James Sontag of Whitewater, Jessica (Mike Poehler) Sontag of Whitewater, Abagayle Sontag of Whitewater, and Riley (Petra) Sontag Jefferson; 6 grandchildren Jayden, Grayson, Brandon, Lincoln, Nora, and Zeke; siblings Jerry (Kathy) Smith, Liz Sontag, and William (Connie) Sontag.  Jim is also survived by a number of other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Linda Sontag, Louise Kyle, and Todd Kosloski.

An open house will be held from 4:00PM – 6:00PM on Friday, November 4, 2022, at the Olsen-Gibson Funeral Home of Jefferson.
