Helen J. Masters, 74 of Fort Atkinson, WI, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Hearthstone of Fairhaven in Whitewater.

Helen was born on June 11, 1949, in Hammond, IN, the daughter of Clarence and Rose (Grothaus) Hearne. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at the age of 11 while attending Camp Chetek in Northern Wisconsin.  She continued walking in faith her entire life.  She attended and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1967 and earned a business degree from UW-Whitewater.  On April 5, 1968, she married Rodney Masters at Calvery Baptist Church of Jefferson.  The couple enjoyed 56 years of marriage and had 3 children.  She loved to travel with her family and has visited every US state and 7 countries.  Helen was employed as a supervisor at Larsen Company, now Dean Foods, for many years.  She was a long-time and active member of Kettle Moraine Baptist where she served other as financial secretary for over 30 years.  Helen enjoyed telling stories and working with her hands doing crocheting, knitting and other needle work and she enjoyed spending time playing games, especially with her grandchildren.  Her work ethic and dedication to excellence, was appreciated and she taught middle school math at her church’s Christian school.   Above all other interests and talents, her family is most thankful for her faith and dedication Christ. 

She is survived by: her husband Rodney Masters of Fort Atkinson; children John (Missy) Masters of Ahoskie, NC, James (Kerrie) Masters of Fort Atkinson, and Jeanne (Erik) Lessard of Fort Atkinson; 8 grandchildren Tyler, Tori (Ben), Madison, Ryan, Kristen, Rayana, Kaitlin, and Luke.  Helen is also survived by number of other family members and friends.

Helen is preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter Courtney at birth, and her siblings.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00PM on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at Kettle Moraine Baptist Church of Whitewater with Rev. Steve Kinstedt presiding.  Visitation will be on Wednesday from 10:00AM until the time of service at the church.  Her earthly remains will be laid to rest at Hebron Cemetery following the funeral.
