Gregory J. Shilkey, 68 of Fort Atkinson, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025, at Meriter Hospital in Madison.

Greg was born on May 27, 1956, in Watertown, WI, the son of Andrew and Delores (Gross) Shilkey, Sr.  Greg is a 1975 graduate of Jefferson High School and married Jean Zweifel on July 21, 1984, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jefferson.  The couple had 2 children, Margaret and Peter.  Greg was employed at a number of places but spend 20 plus years at Fischer-Barton in Watertown, retiring in 2024.  An avid Green Bay Packers fan, Greg followed the “Green and Gold” closely for many years.   Greg had an interest in the outdoors, spending time hunting and fishing in area woods and bodies of water.  He also enjoyed watching sport and other programs on television.  His family apricated his light-heartedness and the care and devotion he had to them.  He will be missed dearly by his family.

Greg is survived by: his wife of 40 years, Jean Shilkey of Fort Atkinson; children Margaret (boyfriend Harrison) Shilkey of Nashville and Peter Shilkey of Fort Atkinson; siblings Steven “Gunner” (Betsy) Shilkey and Mark Shilkey, both of Jefferson.  He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Greg is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Andrew Jr., Dennis, and Paul and his sisters Sharon, Mary and Janice Shilkey and a sister in infancy.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00PM on Monday, February 24, 2025, at the Olsen-Gibson Funeral Home of Jefferson.  Visitation will be on Monday from 10:00AM until the time of service at the funeral home.  He will be buried on the Shilkey family plot of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Cemetery in Johnson Creek following the memorial service.
