Gerald R. "Gerry" Garczynski

Gerald R. “Gerry” Garczynski, 71 of Rome, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2022 at AngelsGrace Hospice Center of Oconomowoc.

Gerry was born on May 18, 1951, in Cudahy, WI, the son of Edmond and Mildred (Schubring) Garczynski.  He grew up in the Milwaukee area, spending lots of time in South Milwaukee and graduated from Cudahy High School in 1971. Gerry was a welder by trade and retirered from Mixer Systems in Pewaukee.  On September 10, 1994 he married Kathleen Czaskos in Oconomowoc.  The couple met while his kids were pestering hers.  They hit it off, spending much time together outdoors.  Hunting, fishing, camping and boating with family were times loved by all.  Gerry was a car guy and loved muscle cars, riding motorcycles, especially on Poker Runs, and even flew RC Airplanes.  Gerry and Kathy owned a total of 9 dogs throughout their marriage and Gerry loved them dearly.  He was a funny guy with a wonderful sense of humor.  He worked hard at whatever he did and his stepchildren thought the world of him.  He treated them as his own and not only shared fun times but taught them valuable life skills also.  He loved his wife’s cooking, and the couple were members of a Cedar Springs Church of Slinger.  Gerry was good a man, and his memory will be cherished.

He is survived by: his wife Kathy Garczynski of Rome; children Joseph (Kim) of Milwaukee, Joshua of Waukesha, Justin (Angela) of Oconomowoc, Nikki (John Bowden) McGhee of Florida, Chris Stocks of Fort Atkinson, and Tiffany Wildt of Janesville; 5 grandchildren; and his sister Mary (Bob) Janke of South Milwaukee.  Gerry is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his son Jay.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00PM on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Cedar Springs Church (3128 Slinger Rd. Slinger, WI 53086) with Pastor John Bass presiding.  Visitation will be on Saturday from 3:00PM until the time of service at the church.
