Eldon E. Finger

Eldon E. Finger, 86 of Watertown, passed away at home surrounded by his family on June 27, 2021.

Eldon was born September 26, 1934 in Mission Creek Township, MN, the son of Augustine and Hildegard (Butler) Finger. He grew up in the area and graduated from Pine City High School in 1953. On May 10, 1975, Eldon married Geraldine Montague in Hinckley, MN and the two shared 45 years of marriage until her death in 2020. After working on a family farm in his younger years, Eldon began working as a sheet metal worker and enjoyed his time in the industry. All sports interested Eldon, but none like baseball. He could tell anyone anything they wanted to know about the sport, particularly if it was about the Milwaukee Brewers. Eldon was a follower of Christ and shared his faith with those around him. He considered himself a “prayer warrior” for those in need and would call the church to for the updated prayer request list. He had a very special bond with his granddaughter Mackenzie and the two loved spending time together.  He will be dearly missed.

Eldon is survived by his son Jeffrey (Kristi) Finger of Watertown, granddaughter Mackenzie Ruth Finger of Watertown, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Eldon is preceded in death by his parents, wife Geraldine, and sisters Marie Soukup, Phyllis Montague, and Lois Anderson.

A funeral service honoring Eldon’s life will be held at 12:00 PM on July 6, 2021 at Calvary Baptist Church in Watertown with the Rev. Dr. Robert J. Loggans presiding. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church. Burial will follow the service at Oak Hill Cemetery in Watertown.
