Dorothy M. "Doty" Foss

Dorothy M. “Doty” Foss, 84 of Jefferson, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 3, 2026, at her home.

Born on June 28, 1942, in Oconomowoc, WI, Dorothy was one of Ronald and Ruth (Bender) Herr’s six children.  She graduated from Oconomowoc High School in 1959, married, and began raising her family.  Dorothy was around children most of her life and spent the bulk of her working years as the Attendance Secretary of Jefferson High School. She dedicated more than 30 years to her career at Kohl's, where she found great enjoyment in her work. Gardening, shopping, and playing bingo were pastimes that Doty enjoyed. Above all other interests and pursuits, she was a devoted and supportive mother and Dorothy’s grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved moments spent as a family and held them in the highest regard. She will be remembered for her hard-working attitude and generous spirit. May Dorothy M. “Doty” Foss rest in peace.

She is survived by: her children Mike Foss of Charlestown, IN, Mark Foss of Waukesha, and Deb (Tracey) Milbrath of Jefferson; grandchildren Hunter (Lexy) and Hailey (Logan Ley); and great-grandson Mack. Dorothy is also survived by other family members and friends.

Her parents and siblings Ronald “Pete” Herr, Gerald Herr, Marlene Derby, Lois Jones, and Richard Herr preceded her in death.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, July 17, 2026, at the Olsen-Gibson Funeral Home.  Visitation will be on Friday from 1:00PM until the time of service at the funeral home.  She will be buried at Union Cemetery in Jefferson.  A time of celebration will follow the burial at the VFW Hall on Friday from 4:00PM – 7:00PM
